Job overview

I. JOB SUMMARY

The prime responsibility of this role is the development of practices to ensure accurate and appropriate data assessment for student growth, maximising differentiation for individualised student learning, promoting best practice under the Visible Learning framework, assessment and reporting across the Junior School. The Coordinator of Student Learning will support the individual needs of students, as well as lead a team of educators. They will be responsible for supporting the overall wellbeing of Junior School students. 

This Middle Leadership position attracts approximately 30%  release from teaching duties plus allowance. 


II. JOB OUTCOMES

Assist the Head of School to:

  1. Develop and implement procedures to ensure accurate recording and monitoring of data. 
  2. Support teachers in planning and programming  according to the data analysis
  3. Implement quality assurance processes in the respective school sections.
  4. Lead teachers in collaborative planning. 
  5. Support new teachers with teaching and learning
  6. Identify , resource and assist in the implementation of appropriate professional learning
  7. Monitor Teaching and Learning and assist with staff appraisal.
  8. Advise teachers on strategies to support student learning in the classroom.
  9. Contribute to the provision of a rich and diverse Co-curricular experience for students in the school.
  10. Design, implement and evaluate strategies to support student learning.
  11. Develop approaches and support teachers to meet individual needs of students.
  12. Meet regularly with the appropriate personnel to case manage students with support needs.

IV. COMPETENCIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

  1. Knowledge and experience applying the principles of Visible Learning 
  2. Solid understanding of Australian curriculum and NESA expectations and requirements
  3. Ability to facilitate and lead quality strategic direction in planning and implementation of curriculum
  4. Proven skills in designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated learning experiences for students.
  5. Proven skills in using ICT to improve student engagement and learning.
  6. Excellent strategic problem solving skills.
  7. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.


V. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education.
  2. Eligibility for teacher registration in home country.


VI. DESIRED EXPERIENCE

  1. Experience or potential to lead teams of teachers in a Junior School setting
  2. Experience in Learning EServices in a Junior School 
  3. Experience in leading well being programs in Junior School
