Service Professions is a diverse department that covers a range of academic and social sciences pathways. Our provision is growing and includes education programmes from your people, adult education, apprenticeships and higher education. 

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and hardworking course leader for Business Studies, who will lead on A Level and T Level courses. We are looking for innovation, creativity, and high standards through 21st Century teaching methods! We are interested in experienced teachers who are looking for a new challenge, as well as existing course leaders who are confident with curriculum design, planning and assessment.


 What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for retention, achievement, progress/value added, attendance and positive progression rates for an identified course or courses.
  • Responsible for developing new units, modules and courses in line with government policy, awarding organisation developments and student demand as well as local community, economic and employer requirements.
  • Plan, prepare and develop schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources and assessment plans and ensure these are in place for all the course(s) teaching activity.
  • Develop and employ effective assessment activities and ensure student work is assessed with constructive and timely feedback provided that motivates and inspires students to improve and achieve.
  • Line manage course staff
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure that learners within the curriculum areas are successful in all aspects of their programme

 

Your Profile:

  • Relevant experience, knowledge and skills to enable delivery of a range of levels across the curriculum, which demonstrates active learning and differentiated teaching styles.
  • Ability to develop and deliver strategies to improve retention, achievement, success and attendance rates for groups of learners
  • Ability to provide productive insight into the review process and development of identified courses
  • Promotion of a safe environment for children, young people and vulnerable adults to learn in
