Congleton High School are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Cover Supervisor to start in January 2023. The role provides an excellent opportunity for those people considering teaching in the future or for someone wanting to gain more experience of working with students in the classroom. 

The role will include:  

• Supervision of whole classes in the absence of a teacher

• Deliver lessons across a range of subjects following the plans left by the class teacher

• Keeping the children on task for the work they have been set and ensure it is completed

• Maintaining a purposeful learning environment in the classroom

• Provision of in class support and assisting if students have any questions 

• Working with small groups of students or individually on a one-to-one basis. 

• To support students in and outside of the classroom

This is a temporary role till August 31st, 2023

Hours: 28.75 per week, we would consider part time as well as 5 days per week

Weeks: 38 (term-time only)

Actual salary: £14,288

You should have a keen interest in working with 11-18 year old's and already have some experience of working with this age group of children. You should be educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent including Maths and English.

Congleton High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy with a sixth form, located in Congleton, Cheshire. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,103 pupils aged 11-18 on the school roll, including 220 in the sixth form.

The town of Congleton has a population of 26,500 and is 21 miles south of Manchester.
