Job overview

We wish to appoint an exceptional English practitioner who will use their experience, extensive subject knowledge and vision to deliver ambitious and high quality learning and teaching opportunities.

This is a truly exciting opportunity for an existing or aspiring head of English to take on a new role taking the delivery of English one step further in the College and, as part of a Curriculum Directors’ leadership team, across the Federation.

In this role, you will lead the English department to make a real impact, developing innovative learning opportunities for students to enable them to achieve outstanding outcomes.

The value and status we give to the role of Curriculum Director is reflected in:

- an enhanced curriculum directors’ pay scale;

- a timetable commitment of 50%;

- an opportunity to contribute to curriculum development across the Federation as part of the Curriculum Directors’ Group;

- an enhanced professional development programme.

Our goal is that through this role and the associated development opportunities, a successful Curriculum Director will ultimately be equipped to move directly into a vice principal position.

If you feel that this position is of interest and you have the right experience, skills and are ready for fresh challenges, with the ambition to make a real impact then we’d like to hear from you.

About Haberdashers' Hatcham College, Pepys Site

Haberdashers’ Aske’s Hatcham College became an Academy in September 2005 and joined the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation as Lead School for the two other academies; Haberdashers’ Aske’s Knights Academy and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Crayford Academy.

The Federation vision is one where all students are inspired to reach their full potential, regardless of ability or background, where aspirations and achievements are constantly raised through the highest quality academic, personal and vocational teaching and guidance, and where the students and staff at all three academies benefit from each other’s strengths.

Hatcham College has long been established as one of the leading independent state schools in the country. Our GCSE and A-Level results put us within the top 10 Independent state schools in the Country and we are very proud of the achievements and successes of our former pupils.
