Curriculum Leader for Government and Politics required for September 2021

We seek to appoint a highly qualified, driven and successful leader to the post of Curriculum Leader of Government and  Politics, who has the passion and determination to continue to lead one of the most successful curriculum areas in our school.

This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional practitioner to join our team of committed staff and is looking to lead an Outstanding Curriculum area and also for someone who is looking to become a member of a school who pride itself on the support of staff and  offers excellent professional development opportunities.

As a leader of a curriculum area you will aim to inspire and facilitate the best possible teaching and learning in Government and Politics, generate an enthusiasm for the subject amongst teachers and pupils promoting the subject across the school. You will also work closely with and teach within the History department.

Psychology, Politics and Economics  is an area of strength within our 6th Form and many students choose us because of the excellent outcomes we facilitate in this group of subjects. We are looking for someone who will work collaboratively to ensure the success and progression of our learners.

Government and Politics at St Bonaventure's  is a highly successful and popular A Level subject.  Exam results show that the Department is consistently in the Top 20% of academic A Level providers in the country.  We believe we offer a rich curriculum where students greatly enjoy learning about British and U.S. Politics.  The Department is committed to ensuring students gain a wider understanding of politics by offering enrichment activities including visiting Parliament, attending lectures at top universities and by meeting local MPs. We welcome someone who can continue to foster students' enthusiasm and love for Politics.

We expect that you will have evidence of excellent classroom practice and high expectations of pupil attainment and,   if  you are overseas trained, we would need evidence that your professional qualifications are recognised in the UK  by UK ENIC &/or the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
