In St Peter Claver College there is a Curriculum Team consisting of the Heads of Department, the Assistant Principal Curriculum, the Assistant Principal eLearning, the Heads of Senior and Middle Years, and the Teaching Teams. The emphasis here is on the belief that, as teachers, what we do and what we achieve in holistic outcomes, come from our quality and capacity as professional educators. As such, there is no dualism or distinction between this work and that work; it is all teaching and learning engagement. The College has a clear expectation that its professional staff are committed to the Explicit Educational Framework of the College that is based on the work or Frey, Hattie, Marzano, and Fullan, in particular. As such, there is a constructivist and productivist approach to learning and teaching. The Team is central in the life of the College and the work done in concert with Subject Teachers, the Responsible Thinking Process Coordinator, and the two College Counsellors carries the ethos of educational holism with high mutual expectations for good and inventive practice. The successful applicant will need to be an experienced and confident educator who has innate and learned leadership capacities to lead with a committed and enthusiastic team.
