Curriculum Manager for Science
We are seeking to appoint a Head of Science to lead and manage our Science Department from September 2018. This exciting opportunity has arisen for a leader who is passionate about the teaching and learning of Science with the impact, vision and drive to raise standards across all levels and abilities.
Sir Harry Smith Community College is an 11-18 Academy, proud of its traditional values and innovative approaches to Teaching and Learning and its standards of discipline and respect. The College serves the market town of Whittlesey, seven miles outside of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with forward thinking staff and school leadership team who ensure that the academic and social development of every student is at the heart of what they do.
The successful candidate will have:
• an excellent track record of raising attainment and examination results at Key Stages 4 and 5;
• a track record of outstanding teaching across all Key Stages;
• proven ability and enthusiasm to motivate students and staff;
• the ability to raise the expectations and aspirations of students of all abilities;
• a desire to share experiences and good practice with colleagues.
