Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in  East London with circa 12,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a  turnover of £35m.  

The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA  level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and  job centre plus clients.  We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and  above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2.

The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level  apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level  technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic  vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including  mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and  Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors. 

The college is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced  candidate to lead the Adult Maths & English curriculum and provision. 

Applications are welcomed from exceptional candidates who have a track record  as innovative and outstanding practitioners in Adult Maths & English  education. You will lead our team of dedicated staff to ensure first class  outcomes and progression for all students. 

Applicants must hold a teaching qualification, a relevant degree or  equivalent professional qualification, and be able to be flexible in regards to  their hours as this position will require evening work. 

This full time, permanent post will be responsible for leading the  recruitment, taught delivery and assessment of Adult Maths & English  students at the main site in Rush Green and also our off site delivery.

Located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Barking and Dagenham College is a large further education college providing qualifications and work skills to learners aged 14 and over. The college has seen extensive redevelopment and modernisation since its founding, and as a result can boast of a wide range of different teaching and recreational facilities. The college also works closely with external providers and business partners, in order to provide some teaching and work-experience off-site for students who require it.

Barking and Dagenham College offers a huge range of courses for learners of every kind, young and old, full and part-time. Of particular importance are courses aimed at 16-18 school-leavers, with a number of A-level and BTEC courses being run by the college, as well as foundation degrees for students looking to go into higher education. The college itself does actually offer a limited number of higher education degree courses, with students able to take advantage of the college's location and flexible financial offerings.
