The motor vehicle department at Barking & Dagenham College is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who will play a key role in ensuring the department moves forward, during the challenging and exciting times ahead. The purpose of this rewarding role is to line manage the motor vehicle area with an aim of maintaining and improving the effectiveness/efficiency of the department. You will lead the team in delivering the best possible experience to students through consistently good and outstanding teaching standards and services.
The ideal candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, able to display leadership skills that encourage staff to be creative and develop rich and exciting lessons. You will also undertake professional duties as a leading member of the department taking responsibility for various tasks including, the planning and allocation of work-loads and duties, the maintenance and improvement of the quality of area and improving efficiency and effectiveness in the use of resources and achievement of outcomes.
Barking & Dagenham College is a vibrant and highly successful College in East London with circa 12,500 students, circa 500 established staff and a turnover of £35m. The College offers routes into learning from entry level through to MBA level, including apprenticeships, higher level apprentices, higher education and job centre plus clients. We have technical specialist areas from level 3 and above with a broad based curriculum up to level 2. We are immensely proud of the achievements of our students, our entrepreneurial and motivated staff team and our extensive partnership network. The College trains circa 850 apprentices, including circa 110 higher level apprenticeships and delivers work place training, traineeships and higher level technical and professional specialisms up to MBA level in our 4 strategic vocational areas; Construction, Design & Management; Engineering including mechatronics & robotics; Digital Creative; Health & Social Care and Leadership and Management across the pan London occupational sectors.

Located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Barking and Dagenham College is a large further education college providing qualifications and work skills to learners aged 14 and over.
