Salary: NJC for Local Government Services – NJC Scale Pt 5 – Pt6 £19650 - £20043 per annum pro rata (actual salary for 42 weeks £18210 - £18567)

Hours: 37 hours per week (½ hour unpaid lunch) 42 weeks – term time plus 3 weeks holiday cover.

Murray Park School is seeking to appoint a technician with appropriate skills in Design & Technology, engineering and/or construction. You will be working alongside an approachable and cohesive team of highly skilled teachers who deliver D&T, Engineering and Construction at KS3 and GCSE level. The material areas we teach are metals, plastics, electronic systems, graphics and timber based materials. We also deliver a construction course which focuses on joinery, plumbing, tiling and brickwork.
The main purpose of this role is to facilitate, organise and support teaching and learning by preparing equipment and resources, maintaining equipment and supporting students in classes. The post holder must, therefore, possess a high level of organisational and practical/manufacturing skills in most or some of the material areas mentioned above and be prepared to be adaptable in other areas of D&T such as CAD and CAM. The post holder must also be able to work with departmental staff and students throughout the age range of 11 to 16 years.
The post is suitable for technicians at all stages of their career and the school is fully committed to supporting staff with appropriate CPD. The person appointed will have:

This role is classed as part time as it is not 52 weeks per year however the hours each week are full time.
