You will work with the Assistant Head (Digital Strategy), SLT and IT team to set the strategic direction and improve the efficiency and integration of systems to support staff across both schools.

This is a varied role supported by two part-time Data Officers, which includes the management of the academic rollover and timetabling, technical support for reports and assessments, providing custom reports, and providing training to staff. The school is currently considering appointing an in-house Data Protection Officer and for the right candidate this may form part of this role.

Experience of working in a school environment would be a distinct advantage. We are looking for an organised individual with excellent attention to detail. You will have experience of prioritising your workload in a busy environment. You will be a confident communicator, have the ability to establish strong relationships and be adept at adjusting to changing priorities.

King Edward’s offers a range of benefits including private medical insurance, health plan, contributory pension scheme, 31 days’ annual leave rising to 36 days with service, gym, and a reduction in school fees.

King Edward VI School is a leading HMC Independent day school for children aged 11 – 18. King Edward’s is a school with a long and distinguished history and it has been at the heart of Southampton for over 460 years. The School has occupied 4 different sites, relocating to the purpose built site on Hill Lane in 1938. It became fully independent in 1979 and co-educational in 1994.

King Edward’s is proud of its reputation for academic and co-curricular achievement and is a forward thinking, vibrant and dynamic environment in which to teach and learn.

We aim to prepare students for a rapidly changing world. The School has long had a reputation for impressive academic results but, while essential for future success, we also encourage pupils to develop a wide range of skills and interests. We combine the pursuit of academic excellence with a range of opportunity and challenge to develop self-confident and independent young people who have a strong sense of community and will become responsible and reflective future leaders. High quality teaching, a strong sense of belonging and the space to grow and achieve full potential is what we offer at King Edward’s.

The School continues to invest in its facilities and opened a new Theatre, Art Department and VI form Centre in September 2017. Over £20 million worth of investment has taken place over the past decade with a new sports ground and pavilion at the Wellington Sports Ground, an outward bound centre on Dartmoor, complete refurbishment of all classrooms and laboratories, new music facilities and extensive IT provision including the adoption of 1:1 technology for all pupils.
