The Residential College, as one of three divisions of the College, is home to 300 undergraduate students and has an impressive alumni body of over 8,000 Trinitarians. Trinity College has as its educational divisions the Pathways School (approximately 2000 students), the Residential College and the Theological School.

Trinity College invites applications for the role of Dean of the Residential College following the retirement of Campbell Bairstow after 12 years of outstanding service to the College. This is an exciting time to join the College as it implements its strategic plan by expansion of the Residential College, enables its commitment to diversity, access and excellence through a generous and expanded scholarship program, acknowledges the important contributions of alumni to the College, and continues to pursue reconciliation and the advancement of Australia’s first peoples.

The Dean will be confident in interacting with young adults and in managing matters of student wellbeing and discipline.

The Dean will also be a member of the wider leadership team of Trinity College and will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the overall College. Additionally, a significant component of the role will include continuing to build and develop relationships with other Colleges at the University of Melbourne and within other Australian universities.

The successful candidate will hold tertiary qualifications and bring demonstrated senior leadership skills ideally with experience of residential college life. Candidates should have a commitment to, and interest in, young people and their education and development and be able to guide students in their academic pursuits whilst encouraging them to become active members of the College community. The appointed candidate will commit to upholding the Anglican ethos of the College and share and promote the College values of Excellence, Community, Diversity and Society. Experience working with Indigenous students and communities would be desirable.
