We are seeking to appoint a Dental Assessor who will inspire learners to realise their potential as you support, advise and guide them through their apprenticeship or classroom base learning and training and assessment.  This role will suit an excellent communicator who has experience working as a Dental Nurse, and is looking to work with and support learners as their assessor.

Delivering a professional and high quality service to the learners is key and underpinned by the quality procedures and Awarding Body requirements.  This rewarding role will allow you to draw on your specialist industry experience to provide professional assessment and support to learners in their workplaces and within classroom settings.


The post holder will be responsible for: supporting learners through their specific apprenticeship training and assessment; providing learners with impartial information, advice and guidance to help them make informed decision to help achieve their goals; observing and assessing candidates in the workplace and providing feedback and guidance to ensure the learning standards are met; keeping accurate reports and learner records; ensuring that the Dental Qualification / Standard delivery is planned to meet the College’s income target and contract; ensuring that learners complete their qualification within contracted timescales by applying effective time management systems for the learners; Preparing, agreeing and reviewing assessment plans with each learner, creation of learner portfolios to agreed standards and ensure they are completed in a timely manner; Examining Candidates portfolio of evidence and ensuring all standards are met; Setting further objectives to ensure standards are achieved; Signing off the award when all the achievements have been met; Aiming to generate new business into the college through the networking and liaison with practices.


The successful candidate must have:

•Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area plus GDC registration

•Assessor Award

•IQA Award or willing to achieve within a set period of time from appointment

•GCSE (A-C) English & Maths

•Relevant industry experience

•Experience of working with 16 to 18 year olds

•A Full UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

After what has been another successful year for both St Helens College and Knowsley Community College, on the 12th December 2017 the two Colleges officially merged to form St Helens College, trading as SK College Group.
