Soulbury Spot Point 28 (£65,102)Reporting to the Chief Education Officer for Newport City Council, this important role is an opportunity to make an impact on the outcome for learners across an ambitious city on the rise.

This position is a demanding and rewarding leadership role. You will be an aspirational leader with professional credibility and the necessary drive to deliver significant changes, possessing the ability and tenacity to work with key stakeholders, including schools ranked ‘excellent’ and those ‘requiring special measures’.

Building on your senior leadership experience, the role will support the Chief Education Officer in providing exemplary leadership within the local authority and across schools and education providers. The post will be required to assist in the development of a robust quality assurance process for all aspects of the Education Service, including the services commissioned from the South East Wales Education Achievement Service (EAS). The (EAS) is a not for profit limited company delivering support for school improvement and linked services that is wholly owned by the five south east Wales Councils. The position is suitable for candidates aspiring to see themselves as a future Chief Education Officer.
