Job overview

The Governors of Bridlington School seek a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to join our experienced safeguarding team.  The DDSL will work closely with our dedicated safeguarding and attendance team and support the pastoral team in their work to ensure the best outcomes for all students. You will have access to extensive online training (at every level) and programmes to significantly develop your own skills through internal and external training and will have specific responsibility for:

  • deputising in the absence of the DSL or other DDSL
  • ensuring safeguarding is high profile within Bridlington School and the local community
  • daily monitoring of CPOMS Alerts
  • dealing with live cases in real time
  • prioritising alerts and liaising with pupils, parents, pastoral teams and the DSL
  • contacting relevant stakeholders
  • referral to the Safeguarding and Partnership Hub (SaPH)
  • safeguarding requests for service
  • ensuring accurate records are kept on the Child Protection and Online Management System (CPOMS)
  • identifying where Safeguarding Risk Assessments are required
  • feeding back to staff, where appropriate, regarding CPOMS referrals
  • contributing to the accurate maintenance of the vulnerable list of pupils recorded on CPOMS
  • contributing to effective partnership working between school and external agencies involved with providing safeguarding and welfare services for children to keep children safe at all times
  • maintaining accurate and up-to-date records regarding all safeguarding concerns and their associated actions in CPOMS

Hours: 37 per week as part of a full-time, permanent contract.

Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
