We are looking for a dynamic, perceptive and strategic individual to support the Director, and to deputise for the Director when necessary, in leading the Education Department and contributing to the ministry and mission of the Diocesan Board of Education, supporting, and challenging appropriately when necessary, church school leaders, church school chairs of governors, LA education officers, multi-academy church trust CEOs and MAT boards across the Diocese, whilst liaising effectively with diocesan departments and all external partners.

There is a genuine occupational requirement for the individual to be a communicant member of the Church of England or of a church in full communion with it, or an equivalent member of a church that is a full member of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.
