Kingswood offers an inclusive boarding and day community that is free of pretension and balances academic rigour, strength in the arts and sport, traditional values and outstanding pastoral care with a forward-thinking, can-do approach. Both the Prep School (nine months - 11 years) and the Senior School (11 - 18 years) offer a broad, holistic education, in which pupils are encouraged to develop self-assurance and high levels of personal motivation.

Candidates for this role at the Senior School will be passionate about pedagogy and curriculum development, and have a track record of having developed academic provision in a management/leadership role. Candidates will enjoy working collaboratively and being part of an ambitious yet supportive and welcoming Foundation leadership team and Senior School senior management team.

The successful candidate will have an obvious love of teaching and be an able practitioner. They will have a proven commitment to all-round education, with evidence of having delivered in an academic leadership role and they will bring ideas and ambition for the academic life of the School. They will also be committed to excellence in all aspects of school life and will have a management style which will accord with the School’s strong sense of community. Whilst applications from those who already have senior management experience are welcomed, the School is also keen to encourage applications from those for whom this would be their first senior leadership role.

About Kingswood Senior School

At Kingswood we hope each young person will find a love of learning and a sense of joy in their own achievement and in that of others, combined with a reasoning judgement, the courage to question assumptions, and a willingness to lead and to serve.

Education that embraces these values enriches and gives deeper meaning to life. It makes the attainment of personal goals and achievements more certain, career advancement more likely, and happiness more secure.

As the Principal of the Kingswood Foundation (and the Headmaster of its senior school) I believe the senior school and the prep school form together a very special place in which young people have the opportunity to realize their potential in a very caring and friendly community. The schools are set within a uniquely beautiful estate on the northern edge of a world heritage city and this provides a wonderful environment in which to grow up and learn.

I hope you will come and visit us and see for yourself how we seek to develop each individual's character and talents by encouraging boys and girls to reach their fullest and best in every way.
