Deputy Head (Academic)
The school is now looking for a Deputy Head (Academic) to support the Headmaster in developing and extending the School’s teaching and learning strategy and be responsible for the academic direction of the School. You will hold a strong belief in education as a means of enabling children to think creatively. The purpose of the role is to create a consistent philosophy of teaching and learning across the School, enabling pupils to think creatively and independently. The Deputy Head (Academic) will be a member of the Core Leadership Team. The CLT currently includes the Headmaster, Deputy Head (Pastoral) and the Head of the Lower School. All subject specialisms will be considered.

About Thorngrove School
Thorngrove School is a co-educational independent preparatory school in Highclere, near Newbury in Berkshire, for 2 1/2 -13 year olds. It accommodates approximately 220 pupils.
Thorngrove School was founded in 1988 by Nick and Connie Broughton. They wanted to create an establishment that provided for all children, whatever their abilities. Recent developments have included a 3 lane cricket net facility and personal devices for all children in Year 3 up. The school will be celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2023.

Thorngrove School aims to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum, developing pupils' academic education as well as their interest in extra-curricular pursuits. Teachers strive to provide a nurturing environment for every child and to promote teamwork and friendship between year groups. The pre-preparatory school maximises the use of all school facilities, including the woods and fields.
