The King’s School is a selective co-educational boarding and day school of 850 pupils in years 9-13. The school, dating back to 597 and situated in the heart of the historic Cathedral city of Canterbury, has an outstanding reputation as one of the country’s leading independent schools.
A newly created post has become available for a well-qualified Deputy Head to promote and have oversight of the full co-curricular provision of King’s, both on and off site. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will work closely with each of the other Deputy Heads and will be part of the on call rota which operates throughout the year (both term time and holidays).
The development of the trips and expeditions programme is key to our co-curricular programme and it is essential that we find a balance that pupils and colleagues are able to successfully participate in. The post holder would plan this long term programme with colleagues.
You will also be expected to deputise for the Headmaster (along with the other Deputies) for shorter or longer periods as necessary with authority to make decisions on matters of normal routine. This new post is due to an expansion of SMT.
Those considering applying but requiring more information can contact the Senior Deputy Head for an informal discussion: firstname.lastname@example.org
Further details are available from the King’s School website: www.kings-school.co.uk
