An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspirational Primary School Leader to oversee the day to day running of our First School (Nursery to Year 2 (Pre-K to Grade 1)).

Founded in partnership between NLCS (UK) and Sobha, North London Collegiate School [Singapore] will open its doors in August 2020.   We are excited to be bringing the ambitious and inspirational NLCS ethos to the dynamic and exciting location of Singapore.

The School will provide the same impressive range of extra-curricular activities for which North London Collegiate School (UK), NLCS Jeju and NLCS Dubai, are well known, to foster the holistic development of well-rounded individuals.  

The school will be purpose built, boasting impressive, state-of-the-art facilities; construction is already underway and on target for completion in February 2020.

The Deputy Head, (Head of First School) should be able to think strategically, respond to the school’s changing needs and initiate improvements and developments, particularly in his/her areas of responsibility and expertise. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven leadership skills.

The Deputy Head (Head of First School) will assist and report directly to the Vice Principal (Head of Junior School) and the post holder will be involved in managing and co-ordinating key school events (including open houses, option and curriculum information sessions, and major whole-school events such as Founder’s Day).  Previous experience of the PYP programme would be an advantage, but of prime importance is an ability to motivate and inspire pupils and lead staff in order to ensure that academic provision is consistently of the highest standard. The appointee will manage all aspects of teaching and learning in the First School, in keeping with the overall aims of the School. He / she will also be responsible for supporting members of the Junior School in all appropriate ways, ensuring that they work together as a cohesive and collegiate team in effectively addressing the aims and priorities of the School.

The Deputy Head, (Head of First School) will offer support to the learning and pastoral needs of individual pupils, in keeping with the School’s pastoral policy and the School’s aims and values. All members of staff are also expected to be involved in pastoral care within the School community, usually in the role of form tutor or co-tutor, and also to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School.
