Job overview

Cokethorpe Junior School is a small, friendly and vibrant school of around 120 pupils.  The school ethos places emphasis on pastoral care, sense of community and family atmosphere.  Set in 150 acres of beautiful Oxfordshire parkland, the School is located two miles from Witney and ten miles from Oxford.  The Junior School benefits from having access to the Senior School facilities including two all-weather pitches, Sports Hall and other sports facilities, performing arts spaces, science laboratories, ICT resources and a splendid Dining Hall.  Class sizes are deliberately small in order to ensure a bespoke approach.  We are seeking an exceptional individual to deputise for the Head of the Junior School and fulfill a key role in the leadership and management as part of the Junior School Management.

For further information on the School and how to apply, please view the School's website.

About Cokethorpe School

Cokethorpe is an independent, day school for boys and girls aged four to eighteen, set in 150 acres of glorious Oxfordshire parkland, just two miles south of Witney and ten miles to the west of Oxford.

The School is unique in many ways; not only is our setting unsurpassed but we are also one of the only co-educational day schools in Oxfordshire with both Prep and Senior schools on the same site.

At the heart of our School is the belief that our pupils dig deeper, reach higher, and stretch further when they feel the embrace of supportive peers and the oversight of enthusiastic and experienced teachers who know when and how to challenge them. This sense of community is fostered by the close-knit House system where young people develop a deep sense of belonging; it is forged around the close, working relationship of the small classrooms, where teachers engage the intellect, encourage students to grapple with ideas, and teach lifelong respect and humility.

We are a happy, strong and vibrant community, in which individuals are generous of spirit, inspire friendship and support one another. Our teachers, pupils and parents value the School's small class sizes and emphasis on delivering liberal educational principles in an environment that celebrates individual achievements equally, whatever their passions might be.
