Job overview

One of Sydney’s independent Anglican girls’ school is seeking to appoint an inspirational educational leader to join the junior school leadership team. Our client caters for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, and for boarding students from Years 7 to 12. The successful applicant will be responsible for student and staff wellbeing and the operations of the Junior School. The Deputy Head of Junior School will be passionate, innovative and up to date with educational best practice. They will oversee our wellbeing programs, contribute to the strategic development of the school and work with staff to ensure the highest standards across the school.

About the Role:

• Full-time, Permanent position commencing January 2021

• Actively support the Christian character and purpose

• Oversee and manage the wellbeing of students in the junior school

• Oversee and manage the administration and organisation of the junior school

• Demonstrate pedagogical leadership, supporting staff in the implementation of best practice

• Assist in the management of the assessment and reporting processes

• Assist in the management of the staff development program that encompasses the professional development, appraisal, and recognition of staff

• Represents the school and wider community.

• Uphold and promote high standards in all areas of endeavour.

• Teach a limited number of classes, including academic support and extension groups


Selection Criteria:

• Have leadership experience

• Be suitably qualified with a Teaching Degree (qualification must be recognised in Australia)

• Be registered, or have the ability to be registered with New South Wales Education Standards Authority & Working with Children Check

• Provide current and relevant teaching references

• Have the right to work in Australia
