We are looking for a Deputy Head of Primary to join our senior leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with solid, evidence based pedagogy and a record of raising attainment to make a significant difference to young Emiratis.
THE SCHOOL
Al Shohub Private School was founded in 1999 by Her Highness Sheikha Shaikha Bint Saif Al Nahyan to provide exceptional education in Abu Dhabi.
We are located in the heart of Khalifa City in Abu Dhabi in a purpose-built educational facility. Al Shohub is a British curriculum through school offering places from FS to Year 13 with co-ed provision from FS to Year 6 and an all-girls environment in secondary.
The large majority of our students are Emiratis. Our school is deeply rooted in the values of the Emirati community, driven by the aspirations of parents, and guided by the requirements of our regulatory body, ADEK.

THE ROLE
Requirements:
Essentials:
- Extensive knowledge and deep understanding of the National Curriculum including a good understanding of early literacy and numeracy
- At least four years of experience teaching the National Curriculum
- Key stage or year group leadership experience
- Fluent, error-free English language proficiency – spoken and written
- A clear record of raising attainment
- An understanding of using student data effectively to inform teaching and ensure student learning
- Bachelor's degree in Education or another relevant field with a teaching qualification specialising in the subject
- Female only
Desirable:
- Experience working with Emirati students
- Experience working with students for whom English is an additional language
- An understanding of GL assessments
- An understanding of how students learn and the ability to translate that knowledge into optimising student learning
