Box Hill School is a co-educational day and boarding community of 425 girls and boys aged 11 to 18, whose educational ideals and practice are designed to get the best out of each student. The school follows the philosophy of Kurt Hahn, founder of Gordonstoun in Scotland: while placing academic work at the heart of a school, Hahn stressed the importance of an all-round education as a preparation for life.

This is a key senior appointment reporting to the Headmaster, and the successful candidate will play an important role in whole school decision-making as part of the Senior Leadership Team, as well as taking the lead in pastoral care for day pupils, and safeguarding matters (DSL) for the whole school.

It is a prerequisite of the post that the candidate will be completely aware of, and keep up to date with, all guidance relating to safeguarding and to ensure that the school remains fully compliant in its safeguarding responsibilities.

We aim to appoint a colleague who will involve themselves whole-heartedly across our community advancing our reputation for pastoral care, which in our last full inspection was identified as outstanding.

Suitably qualified and experienced candidates should apply setting out clearly how they meet both the leadership criteria for the role as well as their professional experience within safeguarding.
