Deputy Head Pastoral – Junior School

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.

The School offers a premium education, with a wide and varied curriculum, that is responsive to the needs of students and parents, where the intellectual needs of each student is given priority.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher with proven leadership skills to work alongside the Junior School Executive Team to develop and implement initiatives in pastoral care for our youngest students.

The successful candidate will be able to show initiative, be positive, committed and enthusiastic, and have the ability to engage with children and their families coupled with ability to coach and develop the skills and practice of Junior School staff.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring the highest standards of pastoral care, wellbeing and character development so excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills are essential in this pivotal role.
