Job overview

A Bolder Future Awaits

Are you seeking an opportunity to play a major role in setting up and establishing a new school? If so, Bolder Academy is looking for a dynamic, experienced and courageous leader to take up the post of Deputy Headteacher in the summer.

Bolder Academy is a new, mixed, non-denominational school opening in September 2018.

The Academy has been set up by primary and secondary Headteachers from the London Borough of Hounslow to meet the demand for extra school places. We are already part of the community.

Extraordinary partnerships have been formed with key local businesses such as Sky resulting in a ‘bold’ education: a traditional, highly academic curriculum combined with brilliant extra-curricular opportunities.

Starting with year 7, we will get to know every Bolder student and their family exceptionally well, strong relationships and great communication is the Bolder way.

The opportunities to be part of the Academy’s history and to create a school that truly stands apart are significant: shaping the curriculum, sparking enthusiasm and excitement for learning, taking on a wide range of whole school responsibilities. A perfect career move before taking up headship.

Bolder Academy offers our students and our staff to shine brighter, to be bolder.

Closing date: 9am, Monday 15 January 2018

Interviews: Wednesday 24 January 2018 and Thursday 25 January 2018

Further information about the Academy can be found on our school website www.bolderacademy.org

To apply, please click on the ‘Apply’ button on our TES listing to fill out an online application form. Alternatively, please email Heidi Swidenbank on head@bolderacademy.co.uk to obtain an application form or if you have any questions.

Bolder is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake online safeguarding training and all positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Two references will be sought for every candidate that is called for interview.

A Bolder Future Awaits

Join us on an exciting journey. Help us shape the future of a vibrant new secondary school opening in September 2018, here in the London Borough of Hounslow. Play your part in creating a school that will stand apart: a centre of excellence, optimism and openness. Every student will thrive and grow.

Bolder Academy has been established by Hounslow Headteachers in response to local demand for additional places in the area. Hounslow schools work in close partnership and many schools in the area are outstanding or good. By collaborating towards shared goals, we aim to create another outstanding Academy in the borough.

Located within easy reach of Brentford and Isleworth, this area is surrounded by national and international businesses. We already have a strong relationship with key partners such as Sky.

Bringing such extensive knowledge, experience and expertise, our partners will support the development of an innovative academic curriculum. This will take them through our Sixth Form and beyond. Our students will be ready to meet the challenges of the future. In all of this, we will take the boldest approach with the highest expectations of success.

As a non-denominational school, Bolder Academy will welcome young people from a range of different backgrounds. It will be fully inclusive and open to all, with a dynamic student body of mixed gender, multicultural students, all enjoying an exceptional learning experience within a newly built, state of the art school.

But of course, making all of this happen will be in the hands of our teaching team: the ambitious and passionate professionals who can inspire every young person to explore what’s possible and achieve amazing things. If that sounds like you, we’d invite you to find out more about being part of our future. It’s ours to create, so let’s work together, be bolder and grasp the exciting opportunities ahead.
