Set in beautiful campus style surroundings, there are excellent facilities and we strive to create a really warm and friendly community atmosphere. Graveney is a fiercely aspirational school. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join our leadership team and help us with our work on developing some of our most important school practices. Do you have track record of leadership/management? Do you have experience of working in either Special Needs or Equality, Diversity and Inclusion? Do you excel as a classroom practitioner? We are looking for a new colleague with the skills and the motivation to lead teams of staff and have the strategic vision necessary to situate their work within our larger programme of whole school improvement.

We have a truly diverse intake with students from many different ethnic backgrounds and speaking 58 heritage languages. We want to make sure that this diversity plays a leading role in the continued success of our school, bringing a richness of cultural and other experience to bear on everything that we do. We are also proud of our track record in working with our disadvantaged students and were delighted with a recent analysis of our GCSE outcomes (Summer 2019) which places us in the top 10 secondary schools in the country for closing the gap. However, we also recognise the need to continue to innovate in our practices in order to best support all of our students and their needs.

We would greatly value your expertise and skills in managing all aspects of equality, diversity and inclusion. Your contribution with us will ensure that Graveney remains at the forefront of educational thinking as well using your role as inclusion lead to secure the best possible outcomes for all of our students of every background or ability.

Visits to the school are most welcome and if you wish to visit, please contact the HR Department on 0208 682 7028.

Graveney has a long and enviable record of sporting success at local, national and even international level. The school understands the importance of leading an active life and the benefits this brings to pupils’ academic progress. All pupils in KS3 and 4 follow a broad and balanced PE curriculum. Sixth-form students are also provided with a range of opportunities to remain active.

Ofsted report

“The quality of teaching leads to exceptionally strong outcomes for students. There is a team of leading practitioners which impacts upon teaching and learning through professional training and research. For example, this team is leading a project running in collaboration with King’s College, London and a school project on teaching middle-ability students to improve practice.”
