Salary: Leadership Pay Range L20 – L24 (£75,331 - £83,081)

Required: From September 2024

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join one of the country’s leading grammar schools as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. They are seeking to appoint a Deputy Headteacher, following the promotion of the current postholder to a headship at another school. The roles and responsibilities attached to the post will be agreed with the successful candidate. The priority for the school is securing the best candidate. There is some flexibility within the existing team and responsibilities will therefore be negotiated after appointment.

The role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute towards the day to day management of the school, alongside strategic leadership.

The role requires a committed individual who holds the interests of ambitiously improving provision for the students central to their decision making. They will be a self starter who is capable of leading change, representing the Headteacher and liaising with all stakeholders. The successful candidate will offer a warm and approachable personality, alongside the confidence to take and communicate difficult decisions. A positive can do attitude is essential, with the ability to manage conflicting demands in a fast paced environment in a calm and reassuring way.

The postholder will have a proven track record in senior leadership having worked strategically and operationally to improve an organisation.

The role brings with it the exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the school and collaborate to achieve the school’s goals, following their recent Outstanding Ofsted inspection in November 2023.

Opportunities to work with such highly able and well-motivated students as part of their team of hardworking and committed staff do not come along often.

They welcome applications from candidates with senior leadership experience and ambition to progress to Headship.

Student and staff wellbeing are highly valued with their provision including access to fitness and health care schemes. They also offer continued professional development and as such, training opportunities will be made available to you throughout your career with them.

Interviews will be held on Friday 26th April and Monday 29th April 2024
