The Skegness Academy opened on 1 September 2010, replacing the predecessor St Clements College. We provide 11-19 education for up to 1190 pupils, including 340 in the Sixth Form.

The Academy occupies a large site with extensive sports facilities and green space. In recent years we have undergone substantial redevelopment to enable our learners to access high-quality and contemporary learning spaces including a brand-new gym area and classrooms with access to high-quality resources and technology.

At the Skegness Academy, we have high expectations of all our pupils and believe in rigorous and consistent enforcement of traditional basic standards of uniform, presentation and respect. This, in turn, ensures we create a positive climate for learning in which every pupil can reach their full potential.

Our vision is to deliver first-class education for pupils in a happy and secure environment so they can reach their full potential with no limit on what they can achieve. We firmly believe that every pupil can achieve the extraordinary through the acquisition of skills to develop the knowledge which will support them to raise their ambition.

Around 50% of our leavers in Year 13 continue their education to university with the majority being the first in their family to go. We are proud that we have very low NEETs at our Academy at both Post 16 and Post 18. Our strong careers provision enables all pupils to access high-quality impartial advice and guidance in order to support them to make appropriate and sustained decisions about their futures.

Pupils and staff will see a lot of the Senior Leadership Team during the Academy day. They spend a great deal of time around the Academy, visiting lessons and supporting staff to ensure that our high standards are being met and the quality of teaching and learning is consistently high. We have a clear behaviour policy which enables teachers to teach and students to learn through clear expectations and "on call" support during lessons.

The Academy offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses at both GCSE and A Level and we have seen a sustained improvement in our results over the past 5 years as we strive to become the local school of choice.

We are keen to involve our stakeholders in both the operational and strategic decision-making process at the Skegness Academy and we are proud to maintain strong relationships with the local business and labour market to provide our pupils with work insight opportunities and develop their life skills. We regularly consult with our parents and pupils to ensure we are providing an inclusive educational experience that is personalised to each and every pupil at our Academy.

All teaching staff are given a laptop and staff wellbeing is a priority at the Skegness Academy with access to Perkbox and a staff wellbeing group. This group consults with staff and makes recommendations to the Principal.  For example, we have purchased Markmate for teachers and continue to investigate and support further strategies for reducing workload.

Skegness Academy is situated in Skegness, a family-centred tourist resort on the East Coast of England.  We are within 30 minutes of a wide range of picturesque towns and villages such as the market towns of Boston and Louth with twice weekly markets and Horncastle, famous for its antique shops.  Market Rasen is also close by with its National Hunt Racecourse as is Woodhall Spa, famous for its National Golf Centre - the home of English Golf and just over an hour away is the city of Lincoln.

The average house price in Lincolnshire is £284,000 for detached properties and £167,000 for semi-detached properties.
