Design & Technology Teacher (Full or Part-time) including TLR

We seek a committed and enthusiastic DT teacher, in any discipline, to teach across the Key Stages and ability range. TLR will be available depending on skills and experience. 

At St. Mary’s, the DT Department offer a range of subjects including Food & Nutrition, Resistant Materials and Textiles. The department will be moving into new purpose-designed accommodation in September 2021 and so this is an even more exciting time to join this friendly and supportive team.

We offer a comprehensive training package for NQTs and early career teachers, and personalised CPD for more experienced practitioners. DT is popular subject at GCSE and at A Level with students every year choosing to continue to University, apprenticeships or employment.

Our previous OFSTED inspection judged us as Outstanding in every category, and our most recent S48 Inspection (2018) also judged us as Outstanding in every area.  Over the last 4 years, exam results have risen at both GCSE & A Level.  The ‘Progress 8’ score for 2018 was +0.61, which puts the school in the top 10% in the country, and the 2019 also placed us ‘above average’.  At A Level the proportion of A*-B Grades as well as students enrolling at elite Russell Group Universities has risen significantly over each of the last 5 years, with a number of students holding acceptances to Oxbridge for September 2021.
