Job overview

Development Executive

Salary dependent on experience

Stowe is one of the best-known co-educational boarding Schools in the country.  In the remarkable setting of Stowe House and its world-famous parkland and landscape gardens near Buckingham, it provides the finest education and inspiration for nearly 820 boys and girls, aged 13 to 18.

We are now looking to recruit a Development Executive to be a member of the team charged with raising significant funds for the Campaign for Stowe, primarily to provide financial assistance for talented and deserving children. You will work within the close-knit team on the planning and organisation of fundraising events and other initiatives, prospect research, and supporting the work of the Development Director.

The role requires someone with strong interpersonal and exceptional organisational skills; someone who is able to ‘multi-task’ and work under pressure, and with the ability to get on with and build relationships with members of the Stowe community at all levels and from all backgrounds. Excellent IT and communication skills (both verbal and written) are important and experience in the use of databases would be highly regarded too.

Preparing our pupils for life after Stowe begins in their very first year, with teaching and academic support that helps each and every pupil to achieve excellence in whatever field he or she chooses. Our pupils achieve superb GCSE and A level results and our curriculum is broad and innovative. Pupils explore an exceptionally wide range of subjects. Lessons are exciting and fulfilling. We do not restrict teaching styles, our academic staff are specialists who infuse our pupils with their enthusiasm for their subjects, and Stowe’s unique surroundings and unrivalled facilities provide the best environment in which to learn.

Our value added scores place the School in the top 1% nationally. Academic support is given in the classroom and through our tutor system. Each pupil’s attainment is monitored closely and pupils are challenged to set their sights high. Our Virtual Learning Environment provides teachers and pupils with a resource which can be accessed in and outside the classroom, and helps pupils to continue their studies in their own time. Teachers at Stowe embrace new technologies which are proven to improve pupil learning.
