About the role

Reporting to the Supervisor: Global Capacities, the position of Digital Content Graduate is to support Sydney Catholic Schools’ online learning vision by providing a unified and consistent online experience for students and staff through the development of web-based digital content.

As a recent or soon to be graduate, our successful candidate has a professional and pleasant approach with the ability to build meaningful relationships within our schools and with students. We seek an autonomous problem solver with a focus on high quality outcomes and an eagerness to learn and understand processes. A creative mindset and high attention to detail is essential along with a strong work ethic.

We are flexible to accept candidates seeking full-time or part-time work with the ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week. 

As a Digital Content Graduate, you will be responsible for:

  • executing strategy and developing content to support social media across all platforms and channels 
  • planning, preparing and managing the publication and distribution of digital content across internal channels, including writing, editing and proofreading 
  • creating content calendar through developing and curating ideas and briefs, coordinating content creation to agreed timelines
  • translating complex ideas into plain English for online audiences
  • managing web requests and ensuring website content is up-to-date and fit for purpose
  • optimising and reviewing website content and interactive tools to meet brand, style and digital best practice
  • ensuring that content requests are handled promptly, appropriately designed and meet business objectives and user needs
  • identifying appropriate channels for content and collaborating with the Communications and Marketing team
  • liaising with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the sharing of SME content
  • reviewing and analysing digital usage data and applying these learnings to optimise web content
  • facilitating the technical aspects of creating various content types, including; podcasts, videos, and interactive methods.

About you

To be successful in this position, you must possess:

  • a graduate or student of marketing, communications, journalism or business
  • experience in web content management, content development, editing and managing revision rounds and migration
  • an ability to understand and contribute to business requirements and translate them into technical design
  • an understanding of W3C standards for web content design, WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) and inclusive design
  • an ability to generate original ideas that strategically drive traffic
  • experience in video editing, podcasting and a proficiency in using HTML for digital content publishing would be beneficial, however not essential
  • willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.
