Job overview
‘Creating a climate for great learning, success and opportunity’
Benton Park School is seeking to appoint a highly qualified, inspirational and committed leader to the post of Director of Humanities.
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptionally talented colleague to join our vibrant and ambitious school. Based in the north west of Leeds, Benton Park is a large and successful oversubscribed school. There are over 1350 students on role including 250 in the Sixth Form. Our vision is to ‘Create a climate of great learning, success and opportunity’. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school where ‘students have positive attitude to learning in their lessons, showing respect towards teachers and their peers’ and where ‘teachers work hard to raise the expectations of all students through their planning to stretch and challenge them in their learning’ (OFSTED 2018).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of raising standards within Humanities and an unwavering commitment to our learners and to our school. You must be highly motivated, creative and resilient; possessing the necessary vision and skills to inspire and lead change but also have the focus and drive to ensure successful outcomes are reached.
The school would consider an Associate SLT opportunity for an experienced and ambitious candidate looking to extend and challenge themselves further. We also have the leadership experience across our senior and extended leadership teams to support a talented subject leader looking to secure a faculty leadership role.
We have high expectations of all school leaders and expect all members of our Extended Leadership Team to contribute to school improvement in all areas.
So if you share the school’s ambitions to raise standards and aspirations, and possess a desire to have a positive impact on our young people, their families and the wider community, then we would be delighted to hear from you.
