The Governors wish to appoint a first rate, enthusiastic Head of English with the skill to teach across the full age and ability range.   If you are highly motivated, have a passion for English and have the ability to inspire our pupils then we would love to hear from you.  

English is a popular subject at GCSE and at A Level, with English being one of the top performing subject areas.  The department have eleven English specialists and is an integrated team which works together to implement a curriculum which prepares students for the wider world and developing the student as a whole. Increasingly using innovative and forward thinking teaching strategies our team ensures there are no barriers to learning and  enable our students to make good progress academically whilst, simultaneously encouraging them to succeed in their future aspirations. 

The successful candidate will be a leader who is:-

• passionate about English and has the ability to inspire and foster a love of learning

Broughton Hall Catholic High School is a Voluntary Aided School catering for girls aged 11-18 years. Boys are admitted to the Sixth Form at 16+. There is shared provision and a strong collaboration between Broughton Hall and Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School. Broughton Hall was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1928 and throughout its history has maintained its Mercy Ethos and Charism. The School Motto, ‘Cor Unum et Anima Una’ – ‘One Heart and One Mind’ – reflects the strong sense of community amongst staff, pupils, parents and governors.
