Looking for a unique opportunity to make a difference in a fast growing subject area?

We are seeking a creative and dynamic candidate who’s ready for the challenge of taking our Language Faculty right to the heart of our academy.

Already a well-established faculty offering French and Spanish at both Ks4 and 5, we are now ready to move to the next stage of realising our Languages vision, with all Yr9 students taking a Language option at GCSE from September 2018.

This is an exciting time of expansion for the Languages faculty. If you are ambitious for yourself and the students who you serve, then you are the person we need.

Our ideal candidate will:

⦁ Be committed to our ethos of high expectations

⦁ Have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of learners

⦁ Be an outstanding teacher and inspirational leader

⦁ Be a committed team player with experience of having led and managed teams

In return we are able to offer an excellent package of support and benefits for the right candidates:

⦁ Negotiable starting points on the salary scale.

⦁ Negotiable relocation package.

⦁ Access to high quality professional development, in-house and across the Ormiston family of academies.

About our academy

Rated ‘Good’ in our last Ofsted inspection (September 2017), Cowes Enterprise College is part of the Ormiston Multi Academy Trust.

We strive every day to create an education that sees the young people of Cowes and the community beyond get the very best, not just in an academic sense but also in developing the skill set, confidence, attitudes and aspirations that will provide the catalyst for sustained success throughout their lives. Our ambition is:

· To empower students to become independent and confident with the self-belief that they can influence change.

· To provide the support and guidance to teach them skills they will need in adulthood.

· To encourage and develop in all members of the academy, our core values of HEART:

                       ⦁       Honesty

                       ⦁ Empowerment

                       ⦁ Awareness

                       ⦁ Responsibility

                       ⦁ Trust

The academy moved into a new, fully-equipped building with superb facilities in 2013. The MFL department has a suite of rooms including a large ‘inspiration space’ and workroom and has a core of experienced teachers.

The vast majority of students are enthusiastic and appreciative of good teaching. Our senior leadership team are ambitious, responsive and keen to support and promote achievement.

Cowes sits at the northernmost point of this popular tourist destination. Southampton is just over an hour away by train from Central London and is served by an airport that has regular scheduled flights to a wide range of airports.
