Are you looking for an exciting challenge and the chance to develop skills for a future career as a Senior Leader? Do you have the vision to build on the success of this core department and take it to the next stage?
Heathcote School is an 11 – 18 School that has a new Headteacher and a new vision. The school is on a rapid journey of improvement ensuring the ‘good’ status (Ofsted 2014/2018) is retained and for the school to ultimately become ‘outstanding’ in all areas. This is an exciting time to be at a school in an unparalleled setting with unlimited potential. In a recent survey, 96% of staff stated that they enjoy working at this school.
The School Improvement Plan (2017 – 2020) focuses on four key areas:
· Building at all levels an ambitious culture of high challenge and low threat enabling Heathcote to be the school of choice for staff and parents.
· Ensuring the best possible learning and leadership of learning, across the school.
· Ensuring safety is at the heart of everything we do and standards of behaviour and attendance are exemplary within the school and community.
· Giving all pupils equal opportunities to make maximum progress.
We are looking for a candidate to continue to develop the department and enable true opportunities for the development of learning and teaching enabling staff, at all levels of their careers, and pupils to thrive. This is a strong department with a clear focus on pupils developing their mathematical understanding alongside preparing for success in their examinations and has significant success at GCSE and A Level; being one of our most popular post 16 courses. Our Maths teachers work collegiately to support each other, develop resources and ensure students achieve to the best of their potential. This is in line with the school vision of Encourage, Challenge, Succeed. The successful candidate will also need to drive the development of numeracy across the school. The department has a Leading Practitioner who works at a whole school level to support learning and teaching.
The school puts well-being and development at the heart of its work and we have very talented staff who are encouraged to grow, develop and work collaboratively, within school and with local schools, and to be the best they can be. We are working to ensure school improvement in a high challenge, low threat way and enable robust systems and structures to ensure consistency in all areas, encouraging the growth and development of all. The school has excellent resources and a stunning site close to the forest.
