Ampleforth is one of Europe’s foremost Catholic boarding schools, committed to all round excellence and academic ambition. This post will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to join us in working with students to cultivate learning as an attitude, a value for life.
We require, for September 2018 or January 2019, a well-qualified, skilled, gifted and practical Director of Music to be responsible for all matters musical within the school and for maintaining and developing the music programme.
Music is at the heart of Ampleforth, above all in the Abbey Church, but also all around the campus and beyond. Over the years an ever-widening diversity of instrumental and choral music has developed and more recently that experience has been shared with children and adults beyond the valley.
The Director of Music will need to have experience of conducting and solid experience as an administrator will also be required.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 22nd May 2018 at 3pm.
Interviews will be held the week commencing the 4th June 2018.
The Ampleforth Abbey Trust, St Laurence Education Trust and its Schools are committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people. They expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and will ensure that all recruitment and selection practices and procedures reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) along with other relevant employment checks.
