It’s an exciting time to be part of the Catholic Academy Trust in Hull! The Trust has undergone a fantastic and rewarding journey expanding from 4 primary academies to include all 7 Catholic primary schools, as well as St Mary’s College - the top performing Catholic secondary school in the North of England.

The Directors of the Trust seek to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Director of School Improvement across our friendly and successful schools.  Specialist areas of responsibility will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

St Mary's College is a Catholic Secondary School and Sixth Form situated in the city of Hull.

St Mary's College continues to go from strength to strength, offering our students and the community we serve, top quality educational provision, outstanding facilities and a commitment to the highest of standards.

The school was judged to be 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2010 and continues to hold this judgement to date.

In 2023 we were awarded World Class School status for the third time showing we have moved beyond 'outstanding' and have continued to improve student progress, aspiration and achievement to such an extent that our standards rival the best schools internationally. The school’s mission statement is educate students spiritually, morally, physically and academically to make them well-rounded human beings. St Mary’s College believes every student has the right to a full and exciting education. The school curriculum is rooted in the faith, practice and moral teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.

St Mary’s College's sporting achievements have set it apart from other schools and its facilities have helped many pupils get involved with sports. Various extracurricular activities are also offered to pupils, from Budding Entrepreneur club to Backstage club. St Mary’s status as an International School has helped it foster a cultural and community feel. From the Green Generation project with Slovenia to an ICT project with Kenya and Nigeria, international schemes help to teach pupils about other cultures.

In our most recent OFSTED inspection (October 2023), St Mary’s College was judged as OUTSTANDING in all areas, with the inspectors stating: ‘St Mary’s College is a highly ambitious school,’ with this ambition evident, ‘in all areas of the curriculum’.
