Job overview
Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust (BDAT) is a Multi-Academy Trust made up of 15 schools – four of which are secondaries. We are both well-established and well-regarded, and as a result we continue to grow steadily. Our success is founded on a commitment to collaboration, common goals and shared accountability. This is underpinned by an emphasis on steady improvement that is embedded and sustainable. And our approach works. Our most recent results have shown improvements in all schools with published summer data, and 2018 saw two of our schools achieving their best ever GCSE results.
As our Director of Secondary you’ll help us to continue our upward trajectory. Working with our school leaders you’ll offer professional support and challenge that facilitates genuine school to school support. You’ll ensure consistency of approach and expectations, whilst recognising the individual traits and needs of different schools. The ability to foster excellent peer relationships that are rooted in a depth of experience and sector expertise will be the defining attributes in this role.
We expect you to bring a compelling track record in the secondary phase, whether as a headteacher or as a school improvement lead. And you’ll also bring the breadth of perspective required to contribute to our students’ full education journey from their transition into secondary school to their preparations for leaving school. Your key areas of focus will include achievement, attendance, curriculum, workforce planning and CPD within our schools. This is a broad remit with the potential to improve outcomes for children throughout Bradford. It’s an opportunity to consolidate your credentials as a talent to watch within secondary leadership whilst working alongside our talented team of secondary head teachers and with the support of an established MAT executive team.
