This is an exciting  new role for someone who has a strong background in terms of leadership of school sport.  As important, is the ability to inspire outstanding participation in sporting activities both in school and locally, regionally and nationally. We are looking for a an experienced leader to oversee and develop our school PE department but also take on the strategic leadership of sport across our community.  We are already  recognised locally as a school with an outstanding sporting tradition. However,  we intend to build on this reputation and become a centre which is recognised nationally for sporting excellence.  We are looking for a talented and ambitious leader to unite both aspects of this role so that our students have the very best opportunities to participate in sport at school and further afield.

Our aim as a school is to transform the lives of our students through a broad and personalised curriculum and through the many enriching experiences made available to them.  The development of sport is at the heart of our vision for Fortismere.

Staff and students alike are rightly proud to be part of our inclusive and aspirational community. We are truly reflective of our local area and as a community school enjoy a great reputation both locally and nationally. We are proud of links we have with international partners for example working closely with a school in Delhi and being one of the first schools in the country to be part of the Mandarin Excellence Program.

Sport is housed in its own purpose built centre with 2 sports halls on a 22 acre site. We offer GCSE PE and Dance as well as the sports BTEC at both levels 2 and 3.  We have a significant number of students who compete nationally as elite sportsmen and women.  We are also keen to develop sports leadership within the school.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS prior to appointment.
