We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Drama Teacher:

Please ensure you meet the following criteria:

Qualified Teacher (QTS)

Degree and Drama Qualifications/ PGCE/GTP etc

European Passport (Right to work in) or currently working in Italy

Candidates should be well-qualified in Drama and be able to teach 1 or 2 classes of MYP English.

The Position: 

A drama teacher who has experience delivering dynamic, creative and enjoyable classes to children aged 5 to 16 years old.

Bring texts to life as well as lead Improvisation and devised opportunities for students. Can you develop their confidence, characterisation and understanding of Theatre around the world?

The successful candidate will have a passion for Performing Arts and a desire to run School Productions and Drama events throughout the year above their teaching commitments. We aim to hold Performance evenings at least twice a year and a person willing to develop an extensive after school programme is highly desirable. This role would suit someone with energy, drive and passion to build and develop Performing Arts throughout the school. Organised, committed and willing to drive Theatre throughout the school and showcasing the students' work often.

IS Siena has Public speaking lessons for Grade 7, 8 and 9 and therefore a Drama specialist with LAMDA or equivalent would be highly desirable. 

The candidate is also required to teach Secondary School MYP English. 

Any experience of being a homeroom tutor would also be an advantage.

Candidates should be committed to high standards, interested in using innovative approaches to learning, and enthusiastic about promoting international understanding. 

A strong commitment to purposeful teaching, positive energy, collaborative planning and open communication is essential.

Applicants must be willing to be active, flexible participants in a hard-working team of teachers. The initial contract will be fixed term for 12 months, after which there may be the possibility of converting the contract into a permanent position of employment. 

Essential characteristics: 

To hold "Certified Teaching Status" or equivalent qualifications;

To have had a minimum of two years teaching experience with students in Secondary School;

To be an EU passport holder or already have a valid visa that enables you to work in Italy. 

Previous experience with IB programmes is desirable but not essential and official IB training will be offered, together with relocation assistance.
