Drama Teacher

TMS on the Inner London Pay Scale

Required for September 2020

Closing Date 15 June 2020

Could you be a teacher in Greig City Academy’s Drama Department? We want a dynamic teacher to join our very successful Creative Arts Faculty, which comprises drama, music and art. Drama is a thriving subject and is a popular choice at KS4 and KS5 where BTEC Performing Arts (Acting) is currently offered.  Students achieve excellent results and the department has a reputation for exciting and innovative productions. The Drama department has forged links with local theatres and primary schools, which have created opportunities for students to perform on the professional stage and within the community.

Three after-school drama clubs, where Sixth Formers mentor younger students, are very well attended. We have links with RADA and Goldsmiths College whose students and staff lend their expertise in workshops for all key stages. The Creative Arts team can promise you a high level of support and encouragement in helping to develop the department even further. This post is suitable for an NQT.

The school boasts a really positive and supportive relationship between managers and staff and between staff and pupils. Excellent support is in place for our NQTs and there are good opportunities for career progression.

Paul Sutton, our Principal, encourages teachers to have an impact beyond their subject and he is always available and happy to discuss ideas with you as to how this can be achieved. We have an impressive range of extra-curricular activities and all our staff are involved in running at least one. Ours is a caring and well-ordered environment in which all students can enjoy learning, develop enquiring minds and acquire the skills and knowledge they need for a changing world. Every day we see the results of our efforts in students who work responsibly and with consideration for others – they are the best ambassadors for the school.

The personal development of all our staff is highly valued at GCA and we offer the opportunity to apply for our Learning Award of up to £2,400 per year for your continued professional development or other skills and talents. This is in addition to the school’s ongoing CPD programme. Other benefits staff can opt into include a cycle to work scheme and an interest-free annual season ticket loan.

GCA has a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and has safer recruitment procedures in place for the selection of staff. It is committed to the principle of equal opportunities; we welcome all applicants and value the diversity they bring.

Please download the application form and email your completed application to voxley@greigcityacademy.co.uk.

The closing date for receiving completed application forms is 3pm on Monday 15th June 2020.

Please note that we reserve the right to close or extend this position depending on application numbers, therefore we would urge candidates to submit an application at their earliest opportunity.
