Drama Teacher

Outwood Academy Hindley is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and inspiring classroom practitioner with a real passion for Performing Arts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly experienced team of supportive and enthusiastic colleagues. The department has a strong curriculum that is well-planned and ready to deliver, with the flexibility to allow the successful candidate to contribute their own creative ideas and style of pedagogy. The department engages in a range of extra curricular activities including an annual musical, Winter and Summer showcases, Outwood Performer of the Year which is a Trust-wide competition open to every student within the trust. The successful candidate for this post will be working within a large Trust of schools which brings with it opportunities beyond this role for further professional development. As a member of the Outwood family, you will be aligned with our vision, which places 'Students First' at its core.

At Outwood Academy Hindley we have impressive facilities, with a purpose-built drama studio with rehearsal mirror wall and blackout curtains, as well as a fully equipped Arts Theatre with a programmable LED lighting system, 32-track digital mixing desk, wireless microphones and theatre-standard PA and programmable short-range scenery projector. We have opportunities for students to learn skills on our lighting rig and up to date surfaceless P.A. and we encourage students to take part and develop skills in every facet of performing arts from costume design to set building and beyond. Our theatre comprises tiered seating and a capacity of up to 200, which hosts our sell-out shows that are of the highest standard. Our previous productions include Matilda Jr., Six, Legally Blonde and School of Rock. We are proud to be considered a flagship Performing Arts department within the Trust, and regularly host and invite the community into the academy to enjoy our professional standard productions.
