Lakeside School is a successful, independent specialist day school for young people aged 5 -13 years who have autism spectrum disorder and associated behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

Your role as a Driver/Escort will be to either drive one of the school minibuses, or escort the children whilst they are driven, collecting them from their homes in the morning, and returning them after school.  The number of young people in each vehicle will be between one and 6, and there will always be 2 Driver/Escorts present.

Ideally applicants will have a clean driving licence with a minimum of 5 years driving experience and have a good sense of humour and have the ability to work as part of a team. Applicants should be of smart appearance, reliable and good time keepers.  We will consider applications from non-drivers who can be employed as an Escort only.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check and, if employed as a Driver/Escort, will complete a MIDAS driver training course.  All employees will undertake staff induction training.

You will work Monday-Friday, 15-20 hours per week, and your hours will be split between the morning and afternoon school runs.  Term time only.

You’ll receive a competitive salary, pro-rata’d 35 days school holidays, contributory pension (matched up to 5%) and comprehensive induction and ongoing training, as well as extensive Group staff benefits such as Medicash Health Plan/Employee Assistance, Cycle to Work and tax free childcare vouchers.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Vicky Earley – Administrator on 0151 4877211.

The Witherslack Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its young people.  This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.  We are an equal opportunities employer welcoming applications from all sections of the community.
