Job overview

Lakeside School is a successful, independent specialist day school for young people aged 5 -13 years who have autism spectrum disorder and associated behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

Your role as a Driver/Escort will be to either drive one of the school minibuses, or escort the children whilst they are driven, collecting them from their homes in the morning, and returning them after school.  The number of young people in each vehicle will be between one and 6, and there will always be 2 Driver/Escorts present.

Ideally applicants will have a clean driving licence with a minimum of 5 years driving experience and have a good sense of humour and have the ability to work as part of a team. Applicants should be of smart appearance, reliable and good time keepers.  We will consider applications from non-drivers who can be employed as an Escort only.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check and, if employed as a Driver/Escort, will complete a MIDAS driver training course.  All employees will undertake staff induction training.

Hours

You will work Monday-Friday, 15-20 hours per week, and your hours will be split between the morning and afternoon school runs.  Term time only.
