Are you self-motivated and hard-working? Would you like to become part of a growing, dynamic, rural school, with a culture of achieving excellence for every pupil? Do you have a particular interest in helping children with English as a Second Language?
We have recently grown in size - moving from four classes to five - and this has meant that we now have a much increased number of pupils learning English as a second language.
We are looking for an EAL Specialist to join our team of support staff, to work with these pupils for 10 to 15 hours per week. You would run interventions with pupils ranging from age 4 to 11, with levels of English varying from complete beginner to intermediate.
This position will be fixed-term for a period of one year, with a possibility of extending beyond this, starting September 2022. The intended hours of work are 1:00pm to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, however there may be flexibility in this for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will:
● work within a committed and supportive team of TAs
● receive support from our Headteacher and SENDCo
● be flexible and happy to work with individuals and groups
● be committed to inclusion and equality of opportunity
● have good communication skills
● have previous experience of working in education settings and supporting pupils with EAL

Welcome to Beckley Church of England Primary School!
Beckley is a brilliant place to learn. We are nestled in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, with spectacular views across Otmoor. Our school is made up of learners who are enthusiastic, engaged and polite from Beckley itself, the villages of Forest Hill, Elsfield, Stanton St. John, Horton-cum-Studley, as well as surrounding areas and Oxford city.
At Beckley, we truly believe that high expectations for every single learner is at the root of an outstanding primary education. There is no barrier too great to stop us getting the absolute best out of everybody here, and our dedicated team of teachers and support colleagues go above and beyond to provide a curriculum that is broad and enriching. We believe that everybody should leave school with memories that last a lifetime!
We have productive and exciting links with the wider community, including dedicated governors, other schools in the River Learning Trust, loyal parents, and the Church. The Christian value of kindness (Ephesians 4:32) underpins everything we do at Beckley, and visitors often comment on the compassion and warmth shown by everybody at our school.
We hope our website gives you an insight into what a special place Beckley is, but we would really like to welcome you in person. Please call or drop by to arrange a visit and I would be happy to show you around our stunning grounds and introduce you to our brilliant learners and colleagues.
