We provide the best possible education for every child in our care and import the very best practices from independent schools around the globe. We combine a unique blend of academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and pastoral support to target excellence and create a values based community of teachers, children and parents.

Located in the heart of Dubai, in a developing residential community, Hartland’s unique vantage point is the iconic landmark of the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and Downtown Business area of the city. The school currently operates from Foundation Stage to Year 8 and anticipates natural year on year growth in the secondary section in the coming years. At this time, we are looking to appoint an experienced EAL Teacher who has worked in a Primary setting. You must have the confidence to plan and deliver lessons to small groups of children across the full age range and be able to demonstrate a good understanding of the phonics and handwriting courses in lower primary phase.

Applications are invited from practitioners who are passionate and forward thinking and who will thrive in a vibrant learning environment. The successful candidate will join an experienced and committed staff team and will operate in a school where facilities are of an exceptionally high standard with to ensure the highest quality of delivery.

  • Hold a relevant degree, teaching qualification and a qualification such as CELTA
  • Have experience of teaching the National Curriculum for England whether that be in the UK or in an international setting
  • Have a minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Be committed to the Hartland Values

As a member of the Hartland team, you will share in the responsibility for teaching, learning, enrichment and pastoral care and will be someone who can thrive on the challenge of growing a new school and community. The school is also committed to supporting and promoting continuing professional development.

In return, you will receive a competitive and attractive tax free salary, high quality fully furnished accommodation, private medical insurance, family allowances where applicable and annual airfare to home country with End of Service Gratuity.

Located in the heart of Dubai in a developing residential community, Hartland’s unique vantage point is the iconic landmark of the Burj Khalifa and the downtown business and financial area of the city. Hartland International School is in its seventh year of operation and is already an established name on the educational landscape of Dubai.

Our student body consists of just over 1,600 students from over 100 nationalities, making Hartland a truly international community where a strong blend of academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and pastoral support for all, targets and inspires excellence. All that we do is underpinned by a values-based family community of teachers, children and parents providing the best possible education for every child in our care.

We offer the Early Years Foundation Stage programme, followed by the National Curriculum for England across primary and Key Stage 3, with a full and wide range of GCSEs and A Levels in the upper secondary. The school is an accredited COBIS member, has received The Challenge Award from NACE and is a member of BSME.

The vision at Hartland is to create a leading British international school, through a unique blend of traditional values and innovative approaches to education. Our aim is that our students are fully prepared for life in a global society and are empowered to embrace their role as good citizens who are able to make the best possible contributions to said society. We teach the importance of this by going much deeper into the meaning of what it is to live a good life. We also highlight to our students the values that we take for granted that some people are campaigning to achieve in other parts of the world. We call this rich blend of academic challenge, enrichment opportunities and pastoral support “The Hartland Way” which is the bedrock of our strong values-driven education

Modelled on the richness of the best international approaches to education, some of our unique features include:

Specialist subject teachers across all year groups

Hartland opens pathways to learn from specialist subject teachers such as art, design and technology, computing, languages and music across the primary phase of the school. This enriches the learning experience for each child and ensures that the secondary transition is seamless.

An inclusive school

With over 100 nationalities, Hartland is truly an International School and a microcosm of the very fabric of the Dubai international community landscape. We are proud that we are bringing a new and diverse global community together.

Exclusive performing arts curriculum

We are committed to the delivery of the arts across our curriculum and believe that it has a crucial place in the timetable. With specialist teachers delivering Drama and Music across the primary phase, and with external specialist partnerships for Dance and instrumental lessons, we offer a unique access to our children to experiment with expression through the arts. Our curriculum philosophy supports our aim to unleash a child’s potential through expression and creativity helping build confidence and social skills necessary for future success.

Unique language immersion programme

To help students shape, retain and connect with the world, Hartland offers multiple language learning opportunities with a unique language immersion programme and an option to choose from 4 languages in the primary phase: Spanish, French, German and Mandarin. In Year 7, we add Italian to the language options available.

Commitment to digital innovation

Embedding digital technology into the classroom to inspire creativity, collaboration, sharing and innovation is a key component of the core curriculum. With Computing and Computational Thinking delivered from Year 3, providing the right environment that will encourage innovated thinking is an intrinsic part of our philosophy. A BYOD Policy operates also from Year 5.

State-of-the-art facilities

A purpose-built campus with smaller class sizes and specialised learning spaces encourages students to thrive academically, physically, socially and creatively. Our 650 seat professional theatre provides a platform for our students and our community and whether through our LAMDA courses or our musical performances, this space allows all children to use and access state of the art facilities through their normal everyday learning.

Personalised learning

A high level of challenge and support to fit a wide variety of learning styles is a non-negotiable as we expertly build the knowledge foundation that students need with our holistic approach to education. We aim at all times to ignite a passion for learning through intellectual challenge, innovative approaches to both learning and teaching and a stimulating enrichment programme beyond the confines of the classroom.

Our commitment to sport and fitness is thriving and our facilities ensure that all interests are catered for. With over 160 different enrichment opportunities every week, whether a child’s passion lies in rugby, football, netball, rounders, karate, yoga, skiing, swimming or sailing, there will be a sport that fits their profile. This is reflected in our student, staff and parent wellbeing programme and all are welcome to participate.

A Hartland education cultivates and nurtures a supportive and compassionate environment that encourages and celebrates high aspirations and levels of achievement for all. It empowers our children to think creatively, analytically, collaboratively and also independently, in a safe and happy environment with state-of-the-art new technologies. We commit to enriching the lives of children with a sense of confidence, integrity and courage, and a deep understanding of their role in global society and of the culture in which we are privileged to live. The “Hartland Way” supports and encourages each child on this journey to success.
