Southbank International School is London’s leading IB world school. With over 40 nationalities on campus, our beautiful Hampstead school educates 220 children from the ages of 3 – 11. The growth of our school means we are currently looking for an excellent class teacher to expand our Early Childhood (ages 3 and 4) teaching team from April 2019 or earlier,  relevant experience of Early Years is essential. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their skills in a supportive and dynamic IB PYP Early Childhood learning environment.

All our teachers offer a termly extra-curricular activity for children from Kindergarten to Grade 5 which should motivate, excite and interest children.

Person Specification

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualified Teaching Status (or equivalent) in Early Years
  • Relevant experience as a teacher in Early Years (age 3 and 4), preferably in an international school
  • Proven record of excellent teaching and learning
  • Strong IT skills and an ability to deliver integrated digital learning
  • Strong track record in the teaching of language and mathematics skills for early years
  • Demonstrate understanding of constructivist Early Years educational philosophy
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the DFE and UK Independent Schools Standards and Regulations for Early Years

About the Hampstead campus

The Hampstead campus offers the PYP for students ranging in age from 3 to 11 and has children from almost 40 different nationalities. It is noted for its friendly, welcoming atmosphere located within a gorgeous “Edwardian style” purpose-built building. Facilities at Hampstead include an impressive art room equipped with a design suite of Mac computers and supplies; a bright and airy music room with computers for recording student compositions; a multi-purpose hall which provides space for lunches, sport and concerts; and outdoor play spaces including a dedicated early years playground with sandpit and climbing frame, and an edible garden.
