Mother Teresa School caters for students from four years of age, where students are enrolled in our Early Learning Centre, to students in Year Six. Our school motto “do small things with great love” inspires us to care for fellow members of our school community as well as reach out into the wider community. The School prides itself on the diverse range of activities it offers students and this is due to the generosity and expertise of the staff.  

About the Role

The position exists for an Early Childhood Teacher to join our inclusive and welcoming community. To be successful in this role, the Early Childhood Teacher will provide high quality nature and play based learning for children attending preschool at Mother Teresa Early Learning Centre, Harrison.

Essential Criteria

  • A willingness to support the ethos and mission of Catholic education;

  • Successful experience in implementing the Early Years Learning Framework’s play based curriculum and nature play to provide high quality educational programs for groups of preschool children;

  • Commitment to providing inclusive programs which are based on the recorded observations and interpretation of children’s responses, needs and interests;

  • Experience in assessing and responding to the developmental needs of children;

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills;

  • An awareness of the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework;

  • Commitment and ability to work in a cohesive team;

  • Commitment to individual development and improvement within the field of Early Childhood education;

  • An understanding of the implications of legal, employment and child protection policies.
