Panyathip International School, The British International School in Laos will have a vacancy for a UK qualified Early Years Headteacher from August 2022.
Vientiane, the capital city, is where we have three age specific (Early Years, Primary and Secondary) purpose built campuses and there is another, but smaller all-through, campus in the Southern city of Savannakhet.
The successful applicant will be based at our Early Years' Campus which is very close to our Primary Campus - and a key part of the role will be liaising with Primary to ensure that the transition from Reception at Early Years to Year 1 on the Primary Campus is as well planned and as seamless as possible.
The ideal applicant will be someone who:
- has experience of teaching children whose first language may not be English,
- understand the importance of differentiation and are willing to contribute to the school outside the classroom
- has experience of going through an accreditation or inspection process
- is open to being a teaching head
For those who are looking to enhance their own experience, there will be opportunities to help the school develop in a number of areas, including:
- taking a leading role in our upcoming COBIS accreditation visit,
- leading PD sessions for staff,
- helping to build curriculum and pedagogical practices in an Early Years setting.
Consequently, this role would be ideally suited to some one keen on taking a first Headship. However, a more experienced leader looking to support and help our Early Years Campus grow might also find this role extremely professionally rewarding.

Panyathip British International School, is a well-established International School. Founded in the academic year 2001 - 2002, Panyathip British International School comprises of three (3) schools i.e. Early Years School, Primary International School and Secondary International School, catering for students from 1 to 18 years old. Panyathip was the first International School in Laos to be accredited by the Cambridge Curriculum.
