Copthill School is a thriving, purpose-built, independent day school for 300 boys and girls, aged between 2 and 11. Located on a farm, surrounded by 350 acres of beautiful rural countryside in south Lincolnshire, our unique site enables us to offer children a wide range of outdoor experiences. Safe access to extensive woods, a river, fields, tracks, farm animals and archaeological sites makes outdoor learning a daily reality for our children.

Our emphasis is on health, exercise, inspiration and engagement.

The school continues to deliver academic success and has a proud history of academic excellence. Children regularly achieve scholarships and academic awards to both independent and state schools in their final year exams, with an average of 13 scholarships having been awarded each year over the last three years.

Since the school started in 1969, we have not lost the founder’s ingrained commitment to a truly well-rounded education. Combining a traditional education with progressive innovation, Copthill provides a happy, secure and stimulating environment in which to learn and grow.

Along with their academic commitments, we encourage pupils to be involved in as many outdoor activities as possible. We aim to raise our children’ self esteem by challenging them to achieve personal success in all areas.

Throughout the school, classes are kept small. In the younger years there are a significant number of teaching assistants. We offer a broad and challenging curriculum to excite and inspire our children and this ensures that they are fully prepared for each stage of their schooling.

All areas of the curriculum have been integrated to make the most of our wonderful rural location and this encourages staff and children to access all the outdoor teaching and learning opportunities that are available.

A wide range of music, drama, sport, outdoor opportunities and extracurricular activities take place every day and these help to develop the confident and well-rounded pupils who leave us at the end of Year 6.
